Get the facts from a prostate cancer survivor

Are you worried about prostate cancer?

You should be because prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men!

My book tells you what your doctor doesn’t have time for:

  • Know what your prostate is, where it’s at, what it does and what can go wrong.
  • Recognise the symptoms of prostate problems, that if you ignore them, can kill you
  • Learn what the treatments are and how they will affect you.

In all of life, for the real story you go to the man who has walked the walk. I’ve walked the walk!

Dear Reader,

At the age of fifty seven, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

I was not ill and had had no serious illness in my life to that point, so I was shocked. I was devastated and I was also scared. Cancer kills folks and I had cancer.

I was also pretty ignorant about the prostate. What it was and what it did.

I was not even too clear on where it was! The prognosis from my physician was not too encouraging, prostate cancer could not be cured but treatment was possible and could be successful when the condition was identified at an early stage. My first thought was – I am going to die!

Once the diagnosis had been confirmed, I became caught up in the medical processing machine. I was passed from specialists in urology, haematology and oncology, before undergoing a course of radiotherapy to hopefully, kill off the cancer cells in my prostate.

Radiotherapy takes it out of you, and during and after the course of treatment I spent a lot of time with no energy to do much except sit about. So I sat in front of my computer and searched the internet for information about prostate cancer, I felt I had to know what I was up against.

The result of all that research, plus my experience of the diagnosis and the subsequent treatment is all in my book. This is information that can only be meaningful when it is from someone who has experienced it, as I did. You do not have to do the research as I have done it for you. Neither do you have to experience the disease, I have done and will tell you everything that you need to know, and most important of all, I tell you what I did to survive.

All of this is contained in my book ‘I Survived Prostate Cancer‘, every man should read it, every woman should buy it for her man!
